Real Estate Directory Listing

Our plans have "evolved" considerably since we first started discussing adding a Real Estate Agents Directory here on FamousAgents.com.

We decided against building a directory that would "just be another directory." We, as always, wanted to do it different and better than the rest. We just can't do the "same old thing" that's already been duplicated time and again in other directories.

We felt then and still feel that any type of directory here should incorporate more of the user inter-activities found among the social networking sites. Some examples being Digg, Netscape, Reddit, Flickr, etc.

In our current production schedule, the building of the architecture will begin in approximately 4-6 weeks. However, we will be modifying the members list on the forum in July to include more visibility by both the users and search engines as a reward to our frequent and consistent contributors.

We are excited about the directory plans. I know everyone is anxious, however, I know we will all be pleased with having a completely new and exciting directory that:

• is not like all the others

• is socially interactive

• has more benefits for members

• has greater referral power (we are in this business to make money, right?)

I can't wait to see it Jim (and be listed of course ). I'm glad to see that you are planning to take this another way, because you are absolutely right. There are plenty of same old same old directories out there and they are just that, the same and old. Most take up webspace and not much else.

I am glad that Jim is thinking about something that will be more forward looking than the usual real estate agent directory. Also glad to hear that Jim is busy with lots of projects - speaking of projects I have one that I am working at this time.

Maybe there could be a section for things that make you truly stand out. Special awards you've won, television appearances, newspaper references, etc. What does everyone think about it?

That wouldn't be a bad idea...then again I am biased. Working on putting together a real estate talk show currently. Also think I will be in RIS Real Estate magazine this month.

A real estate talk show, ok I gotta hear this one Ken. How in the world do you find time is the question.

It is only in the works currently, but it will feature the top agents from different parts of the Chicagoland market. I was the first one approached and they are filling in the rest currently. Most likely it will be 5-6 agents in total, one from northwest IN and 4-5 from different parts of the Chicagoland area.

The show will only air once per week and I don't have to be on it every week so the time commitment isn't that big. Considering the exposure I would take any amount of time that would be needed for this. It will allow me to really expand my business and get my name in front of a very large audience.
