Some people swear by radio advertising but I rarely hear ads on the radio for real estate agents. There are some but not many. What would be the best use of a radio advertising for a real estate agent; promote your services, promote your listings, or something else?

It sounds like you had the same luck we had running the radio ads in Jackson Hole. Have you spoken with anyone who has stuck with it for at least a year? |

The only example in Chicago was a company called ownacondo.com of course they do a lot more such as WhiteSox in game advertising, AM/FM radio, tv you name it. Of course as Jim said continuity is the key. And if you are a small website or a small brokerage, internet is the way to go

The ads are more about branding then anything and most sites are not brandable IMO. People can remember OwnACondo, it's short, to the point, and easy to spell. Plus as Mert said they did a major ad blitz that hit people multiple ways not just the radio.
From talking with one of their sales reps they get a lot of leads from the web, but the agent had no idea how to work them and called them "garbage". She even had them turn the leads off because it "was a waste of her time". Sad, but this is how most agents think of internet leads...then again it is good for those of us that have learned how to make a living off these "garbage" leads.

I can't count how many times I have overheard agents saying those exact words. Though my favorite comment is, "that internet thing is just a fad." Let the Dinosaurs fade out quietly... |

I've had good success with radio ads....they just weren't mine. Several of the condo conversion projects here in Vegas used to advertise on the radio all of the time. I would put up pages for those developments and would get quite a few leads from them. Several people stated that they "heard our radio ad". Even though the developers would say their url, no one remembered it. They would search for development on the web and find me instead.

I am doing some TV advertising here. Will keep everyone apprised of my results - not expecting too much though. (The eternal optimist.) Running ads on my listings. The ads are running on a real estate channel, for 7 days with a minimum of 28 times during the 7 days and they are 15 second ads.
