Hello fellow agents of Real Estate! Greetings from the mid-west. I am a new agent in Union, Missouri. I received my real estate license in October 2007 and began working for a local real estate company, Dolan Realtors.
I currently could use some ideas of ways to promote my business. I have been sending mailers to my S.O.I, and have gotten a few leads from that, and I have mailed out postcards to various neighborhoods in my area, but things are just slow and people are hesitant to move or buy right now because of all the media madness. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions of ways to advertise that people will actually look at?? Or should I just stick to what I have been doing and calling FSBO's???? I look forward to getting any feedback I can. Thank you, Sincerely, Dawn Pehle |

Hi Dawn,
Welcome to the forum and hope you find lots a great information here. Have you had any listings or sales yet? How large is your sphere of influence? Do you have a farm area? How did you select it? Just some questions, to start with so that suggestions can be made. Have a truly great day.

Thank you for replying to me!!!
To answer your questions, I have had 2 Listings and 2 Sales since I began in October. I dont know if that is good for just starting out or not? My SOI list is about 200 total and I continue to add new contacts to it as I go. My office is actually located in Washington, Missouri which is about 7 Miles from Union, Missouri. Our company has 5 offices and the Union office is pretty well covered by realtors, w here the Washington office was in need of more realtors, so that is why I chose the Washington office. As for how I farm an area, I try to pick 2 areas/subdivisions to work on for 2 month spans. What I have been doing is sending out mailers, I choose my area based on where my listings are. Our market is pretty slow right now but it is still moving where I am. Its just a matter of getting name recognition in this area. A lot of the top producers have been in the business for 15 + years and are like staples in the community. I have gotten cold prospects and leads from my sphere so far tho mainly because people are very hesitant to list or buy anything right now because of what they hear in the media. How are things where you are? Where are you from? If you have any ideas of what more I can do, let me know. I am also working on my GRI designation this year. I am hoping to complete that program by the end of this year. I am hoping that will help my business too, I know it will give me more information and training, which can never hurt. |
