Default Google Update - Take a deep breath!

The latest changes over at Google seem to be causing many to have panic attacks. I have received several emails and phone calls from webmasters who are concerned. As we have all seen before, sometimes during an update sites come and go from different data centers. However, these temporary, fluctuating results often mean nothing when it's all said and done.

The issue at the moment is many seemingly "good" sites have home pages disappering for some of their search terms and at the same time still have interior pages ranking well. I have also seen pages dissapear for some phrases and remain the same for others. There has been some speculation that this is some type of "popular keyword filter"... Hogwash! There is no evidence or pattern to suggest such a thing. The very nature of the results appearing for some prhases and not others should be comforting for those of you worried about being "banned" and such. I believe that the best course of action for the moment is to relax, get away from the computer, go for a bike ride, run, walk, etc.

and...

Take a deep breath.
