Brief rework of forum slimming

Okay, so I had that pretty post ready, but here's the skinny version:

• Merge the SEO forums down to "SEO Optimization" and "Link Exchanges". Maybe there's something more worth having, but a lot of the SEO stuff crosses engines and a single board is going to get more traffic (and be easier to track) than three.
• Winnow down the "Web Site Design" section to something like 4 boards:
  • Design & Development -- templates, page layout, critiques, HTML help, CSS, etc.
  • Web 2.0 Features -- RSS, Blogs, Podcasts, AJAX, etc.
  • MLS Searches (VOW, IDX, ILD) -- Listings on the web help, etc.
  • Service Provider Reviews -- Hosting companies, search companies, etc.
• Maybe add a "Technical Topics" section specifically for help and/or discussion between the providers.

At that can we just drop the link exchange section all together. Just a thought..

Ken,

I like your idea about dropping the link exchange forum. Although, if we leave it up, the page will eventually rank for keywords that might drive traffic to the forum and also provide us an opportunity to educate webmasters about reciprocal linking.

How about the rest of our great members, what do you think about deleting it?

Delete the link exchange forum - could be one today that a search engine looks at the forum an says "hmmm - fancy link network"

You could delete it. You could also just (Disabled) next to it and not allow future posts there. But not delete the current posts if you think keeping them will be helpful. Maybe throw up a sticky saying people dont really do this anymore.

Not too many folks are doing reciprocal linking now a days.
