Default User Reputations

Those of you that have been around the forums for a while are used to the reputation systems.

I would like to edit the reputation levels and titles to match our theme FamousAgents.

Here are the original VBulletin Reputation titles:

User is infamous around these parts
User can only hope to improve
User has a little shameless behaviour in the past
User is an unknown quantity at this point
User is on a distinguished road
User will become famous soon enough - this one we could keep
User has a spectacular aura about
User is a jewel in the rough
User is just really nice
User is a glorious beacon of light
User is a name known to all
User is a splendid one to behold
User has much to be proud of
User has a brilliant future
User has a reputation beyond repute

Please be creative and help us select the new titles. Have fun.

-Jim

Reputation is a nice tool to have on a forum. There are however some positive and negitive drawbacks to it. One of the primary drawbacks is the fact that people can leave bad rep without signing their name to the rep that was given.

A suggestion I would offer is one that was used on Digitalpoint forum. On DP when you give someone negitive rep it cost you 1 point to give that rep. This has caused members to be more selective about giving out neg rep. The reasons I believe for this type of system on DP was to prevent members from giving neg rep for something that they just did not agree with or prevent some members from just being malisous. Just a thought.

Thanks Wayne,

I'll consider that.

I have been looking for the hack the seochat uses that allows for the comments to be placed within the posts. I have searched everywhere and can't find it.

I have also considered hacking the rep system to only allow members to add to rep and and be able to delete.

Have you tried searching for VB Hacks on the search engines? I have not seen any of the things seochat uses for their forum since I havent been to that forum in about 2 years. I mainly visit DP.

Try this page see if you find what you are looking for

I have searched there. That was the very first stop. I also searched quite extensively in the search engines.

Thanks anyway,
