Does anyone out there know of a plugin for creating featured listings. I have this new famousagents website and am having difficulty in finding something I can use to streamline my featured listings and give them some pizazz. Any toughts? Thanks a bunch!

Holly, I know there are some I just can't remember the site I saw them on. I would try googling it first, then try the big WordPress community sites. I know its out there.

Although Wordpress is a great CMS, you also may want to look into Joomla! or Drupal for a little more powerful website. I use Joomla! on mine and I love it. There are many real estate componets that work with Joomla! such as Open Realty and Hot Property.

Thank you both so much. I have been researching but still have found nothing that truly templates the info into my featured listings area without iframing it.

Funny you should mention Druple. I just listed a house for someone who does Druple websites. He is going to build me another website in addition to the one I have now. We'll see which one outperforms. I'll have to check out Joomla!. I haven't heard of that one yet but it sounds interesting.

At any rate, thank you again. I'll keep searching for a wordpress plug-in and if I find it I'll post it here, maybe it will help someone in the future.

I'm probably going to convert my site to Drupal as well. Still on the fence on which way I'm going to go (but definitely going someplace else). I've heard that Joomla has some security issues. But I guess every platform does!

Just thought of something - could you use one of the free software flyer packages to make the featured listings for your site? Of course you might have to strip out some of the code they use to drive their traffic.

Then you could keep the template and use it for other featured listings?

Jim might have some thoughts on this one - or maybe I am opening a can or worms for Jim. Sorry.

I haven't played around to much with adding listings, but you can see something we did for our condo conversion here.

We use postlets for posting to a lot of online classifieds like Craigslist. It is easy to use and free.

My assistant has asked me to come up with a template for our listings so it's an easy upload (she doens't know any code). This is something I will have to work on over the next week and I can post the results once it's finished.

Jim if you have a template for listings it would be great to save all of us some time.

Thanks Ken and Naples! I have registered on postlets but it looks like it's going to be a hyperlink again which means no love from the search engines.

If you have any luck with a template I would greatly appreciate the info. For me, the code is too time consuming as well. I didnt realize it woud be as time consuming to post an attractive featured listing on a wordpress platform. You have to start all over with repositioning and formatting every time you want to post a new one and there just has to be a better way. Thanks again!!
