Thanks Glen, yes it was my goal in the 4 part series to inform as much as possible regarding the template vs custom design practices. I'll edit the post above for the few typographical errors and get the remaining parts published late today.

To clarify a bit, as I mentioned, I'll be publishing the balance of the series on
template vs custom very late today. I did the above at 1:40 in the morning after jumping in to answer some questions about the new program currently in its final beta.
