It's going to be intersting to see how things play out there. Will they import agents listing to Harmon Homes to get leads for the agents or will agents be competing against Dominions other Real Estate portals?

IMO there is no way our listings end up in HH. That would make the magazine ads a lot harder to sell if you can get the online version for free. But maybe Homes.com listings for free..

IMO there is no value to being on Homes.com. Do you really think they have any traffic to speak of? No, because they don't rank for any terms that matter.
National sites are not the answer to getting a local product (homes) sold. This goes against what many want to believe, but it's not the quantity of places you advertise, it's the quality. (kind of like links) But hey if the everyone wants to try and look like they are doing a great job by putting a sellers home up on a bunch of free websites that don't drive any traffic let them. I will kill them in a listing presentation. If they are to cheap to actually pay for advertising a home what value do they really bring to the table? |

Ken, While I agree on the free section, currently in our own Market since Drew knows it too, Chicago Tribune paper is dead may be the smaller papers like readers bring in a lead or two but beyond that it is all about internet. The big brokerages know it also and they still insist on charging six percent because that is the only thing that differentiates them. I would rather spend that six percent not on traditional advertising but on homestaging, landscaping and other things than 200 dollar Tribune ads that dont bring anything.

Mert there are places to pay for online advertising that will actually benefit your seller. What good does Homes.com do for your seller? None, try and find them for any search that will drive traffic. This is what I am talking about.
Enhanced listings at Realtor.com will actually bring real buyers to your clients listings. I get multiple inquries from R.com every month and even closed a deal within 30 days of getting it. |
