This is the meeting place for chit chat not necessarily related to real estate & webmaster issues. Or perhaps it is related, but not listed elsewhere in the forum.

Google is the #1 searched and watched search engine in the SEO world as well as the consumer world. Ranking your real estate website at or near the top of Google can certainly boost the number of visitors and new leads you generate from your website.

Yahoo is a distant second in popularity to Google searches, but it is certainly great competition, and ranking in Yahoo is a good way to bring in new real estate leads.

The third largest search engine is Microsoft’s MSN, although recent search logs may prove it to be fairly even with Yahoo in number of searches. Ranking in MSN is also a good way to bring in traffic to your real estate website.

There seems to be thousands of them that come and go: Lycos, AltaVista, Alltheweb, etc. While none are even close competition to the big three (Google, Yahoo, and MSN), some may find a benefit to ranking in some of the smaller search engines.
