Scammers, schemers, and cheaters watch out! Over 700 of you just got caught.
Recently, some “entrepreneurial” folks have built systems designed to exploit – or cheat – social networking sites like Digg, Reddit, and Delicious. These exploit-the-social-network-sites have even received attention from the likes of TechCrunch and CNet.
SpikeTheVote.com has been at the forefront of the corrupt movement, and interest was amplified when the owner of the site decided to sell it. Read the rest …

Early Monday morning, while most of us were filling our coffee cups and dreading the week ahead, Ask.com released their “latest and greatest product,” AskCity.
While the development for the site is beyond exciting, the blog post announcing the project was not.
Andy Beal over at Marketing Pilgrim brought to light the absurdity of the Ask.com announcement. The addition to the Ask.com family could be monumental, yet the Monday morning blog post left me scratching my head in wonder: Does the new beginning warrant a proper introduction? Read the rest …

Make a move to stand out among the rest.
Podcasting: it’s an idea spreading like wild fire, showing up in classrooms, replicating radio broadcasts, and now rearing its head in real estate. In case you missed it, REBlogGirl shared a bit of humor with us this week.
The 12 Step Program to Managing a Blogging Addiction
1. Admit you have an addiction. Common signs of addiction include: having more “Internet Buddies” than real life friends, communicating with your spouse via comments on your blog and others, keeping your blackberry handy at all times in case you have an idea for a post…
2. Decide you’re not a quitter and will manage your addiction by being a functioning blogger. Yes, this means you can’t forget to feed the cat or husband because your writing an article, you still have to clean the house and close deals even when an angry commenter is wrecking havoc in your post.

REALTORS, Here is your assignment for the week… Revamp your “About Me” page.
There are four main questions that readers want answered on your “About Me” page:
- who you are…
- your expertise and how it addresses…
- their problem or goal, and how they can…
- contact you

Aside from the tips above, be sure that you address the most significant aspect – how you can meet the needs of your target audience. Don’t just talk about how you were #1 at this or that or how you got a plaque for attending the most broker meetings last year… nobody cares about all the “fluff”.
Your readers want to know why you are the best person for the job, but more importantly, how the service you provide will best meet their needs.

Via Linux News
Frequent visitors to blogs and Internet forums may be particularly at risk of identity theft due to an exploit that prompts the Firefox and Internet Explorer password managers to give away their protected information. This is a must read. According to the article, both Firefox 2.0 and Explorer 7 are vulnerable to the weakness.

Happy Thanksgiving folks!
Please excuse our absence during the holiday season. Blog posts and forum responses may slow down just a tad, but we’ll do our best to keep up with you all.
Tomorrow, enjoy the food, family, and football. And when you see your niece spill her entire plate of colorful food (cranberry sauce and all) on your new, snow white carpet just remember… they’ll be gone in a few hours – and you’re going to their house for Christmas!

Never believe everything you read.
The blogosphere gives everyone room to stretch the truth – or flat out lie – about well… anything. As a REALTOR, it is vital that you critically evaluate everything you read in the blogosphere before reproducing it in any way. Read the rest …
