Classy Competition

I have recently taken note of a couple of our competitors linking to us. And they didn’t even use a link condom (rel = nofollow). :-)

Advanced Access - the 900 pound gorilla in our industry (that we are absolutely no threat to) - linked to our 106 Content Ideas article because they apparently recognized that it may be a valuable resource to their audience.

Mary McKnight from RSS Pieces has linked to us so many times I have lost count. We enjoy her work and link to her site freely as well.

This is an excellent example of the NASCAR theory of

coopitition: two or more competitors working together to achieve a common goal.

Hey, we all get around the track a bit faster if we go around together!

We are living, breathing proof that businesses don’t have to encourage a cut-throat, mean-spirited style of competition in order to be successful.

Coopitition is much more pleasant, and something we plan on embracing for a long time.

So.. a big warm, shout-out goes to Advanced Access and RSS Pieces for showing true class!

It was a great article :) We continue to refer people to it and I know many of our Customer Service Representatives have found it helpful to pass on to clients. Great job!

“Hey, we all get around the track a bit faster if we go around together!” - well said! I am sure that a lot of agents will benefit from those ideas.

Advanced Access being a 900 pound gorilla? I’d think of many other names, but they’d all be a little more risky and whimsical.

    ;)

Mary and I have bumped into each other a few times over the past two months. There is so much room for growth for companies to work together on slightly different ideas that there is no reason for cut-throat competition. (I secretly think Mary is the Coyote and I’m the Bunny however…)

The work day is a lot more enlightening knowing people are trying to succeed rather than knocking the other people down. Products and services speak for themselves, so I hope everyone puts forth the effort to meet everyone else at the top.
